This is a shot of just the tree to the of the frame in yesterdays post. Wanting to keep this a silhouette, I placed the sun behind the tree to not have any spots that were too bright. I also wanted the reflection of the light from the sun to show up behind the trunk of the tree.

  1. This is beautiful Justin! Amazing how you got the reflection on the water directly behind the tree as well as the trunk being wide enough to take out the “sun spots”. I really enjoyed this image. Thanks!!

    • Thanks Carrie! And to think that this photo isn’t even cropped. I had to keep re-positioning myself in order to get the composition I wanted. I am getting a lot better and looking at all the elements through the view finder before I take the photo to get what I wanted. But again like the other sunrise photo, I had a difficult time finding the right exposure as my camera’s light meter didn’t help at all. After I got the composition right, it took about 5 or so shots until I had the exposure correct.
