Free Flowing J.T. Avery Phtography

It has been one year since Leanne Cole and Laura Macky started Monochrome Madness that is hosted on Leanne Cole’s blog. Below I have included a gallery of all the photos I have submitted to Monochrome Madness throughout the year. I wish I would have been able to make all the posts but I started in a little late and then I took a break for a few months. But there’s still quite the collection.

This is also my second post for the Black-and-White 5 days photo challenge. For today I would like to invite Laura Macky to this challenge. She’s always producing great photos and photographic art and I would like to see some more B&W from her! Hope to see 5 days of B&W from you Laura!

The rules for the Black-and-White 5 days photo challenge are:
(1) Publish a black and white photo every day for 5 days
(2) Invite someone to participate each day

  1. I really love how your photography has evolved Justin. My favorites are the spider (even though I can’t stand those bugs!) and the mushrooms. I’m also loving your low key work you’ve been doing lately. Thanks for participating over this last year. It’s been so fun.

    • Thanks Laura! It’s been a lot of fun. Those spider photos were a nice change of things and I had a great time experimenting with photo stacking. Speaking of that, now that I have an off camera flash it would make it much easier to get constant lighting for shots in the field for stacking as long as the subject isn’t moving. As you an see I didn’t really need this challenge to get me out to do B&W or monochrome photos as I post plenty of those outside the challenge but it has been nice getting a little more exposure out of it and also finding other photographers through the challenge. I also can’t wait to see how my photography is another year from now as well. I can say that I’m looking forward to hanging some prints on the wall now. Just trying to get through a few glitches I’ve ran into with labs not properly editing my photos for their printers and my monitor not calibrated to their printers so the prints just aren’t printing properly yet. I’m working on that though.

  3. It’s interesting seeing them altogether like this, all your images Justin, it is a great collection. I remember some, and not others, then again, I’m the same with my own. Thanks for being part of it over the last 12 months.

  4. Justin thanks for sharing all your images again. It was wonderful to go through them. Whilst all are exceptional I did have a few favourites. An outstanding body of work.
