Monochrome Madness – Pollen Covered

    • Thanks Amy! It’s always so wonderful to create photographic art from flowers. They always provide us with natural beauty. But it is essential that it must be captured as soon as possible since it fades in a little bit of time. But with some of natures wonders, you have very little time to experience it so you must take in as much as you can when you can. It’s so nice to be able to capture those moments though so you can revisit them whenever you want.

    • Thanks Laura! I was once getting tired of shooting flowers but now that I have the new flash it has opened up a whole new level of possibilities. So many more things I would like to try. Now instead of wanting to buy a new accessory I find that I’m always wanting to pick up some flowers to see what I can create from them. 🙂

You can set it up so the flash on your camera has no affect on your subject, it’s just used to trigger the speedlight flash. This makes it a little better since you don’t have to buy an additional wireless triggers or a cable sync. I also have a stand and got a shoot through umbrella and it works out nice as a strobe as well. I would like to get a softbox one of these days too.

          • Oh! Someone else recommended that flash as well. My husband’s daughter wants me to photograph her chocolates for her new business in a few months. (Like I know anything LOL.) But I’ve been researching all this. I’m glad to hear another recommendation for this flash and for the very reasons you mentioned here. Thanks a lot. I also want to get a softbox for the photos work.

    • Thanks Karen! I wouldn’t say perfect as there are some imperfections on the flower such as little specks of dirt that would be nice to be removed. But as time limits, I wasn’t able to do nearly as much processing as I would have liked. But I would say near perfect for this shot anyways.
